Medium term plan: Monet

This half term, year 5 will be finding out about Monet and his work. They will also look at the work of other Impressionists , expressing their opinions and commenting on the images they’ve chosen to comment on. They will also be sketching and painting landscapes, looking at mixing colours to create a collaborative city painting. They will then finish off the topic with creating their own Monet collage.

Lockdown Art

During lockdown, year 5 continued with their work on illusions and how artists use illusion. They explored foreshortening, the impossible trident and the Penrose or impossible triangle, hyperrealism and Scott Mills work. The also took part in the Dazzle project. Some of the children’s work is on exhibition at the Clayden Gallery, Quay Arts alongside the artist Lisa Traxler, who provided the online video so the children could take part. The exhibition will be open for visiting soon. The exhibition is live on line now, running from 27th March to 13th June. More information can be found here: https://www.quayarts.org/event/dazzleanddisrupt/
